The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT; the lights on the plane were blazing,
We are now at the point where we are switching from a rescue operation to a recovery operation,
Three seconds later, and at that point it was banked all the way to the right... I could see the underside of it; it was lit up a very bright yellow, and there was a stream of sparks underneath it,
We have recovered 27 people from the plane and one from the helicopter,
These responders found extremely frigid conditions. They found heavy wind. They found ice on the water, and they operated all night in those conditions,

From what I’ve seen so far, do I think this was preventable? Absolutely.”
We're going to be out there as long as it takes,
On final approach into Reagan National it collided with a military aircraft on an otherwise normal approach,
You should be assured that when you fly, you’re safe,
I think you have to look at this with eyes wide open, see what happened,
I think that while they would have been told to switch runways, it's not this aggressive maneuver in a regional jet that would prompt them to reposition and be a surprise to the Black Hawk,
The crash] just could have been [caused by DEI policies],
This was not unusual with a military aircraft flying over the river and aircraft landing at DCA,
We’re really not doing things differently. We do all we can to promote safety but, at the end of the day, what we do is dangerous,
We look at the human, the machine and the environment,
It would have been very difficult to see and avoid,
Helicopter pilots can’t be just constantly leaning forward or backward, because you could become disoriented,
