Qatar’s foreign minister Majid al-Ansari urged people to exercise caution when the cease-fire goes into effect and to wait for instructions from officials.
Late on Saturday, Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet approved the deal after more than 460 days of war in which Israeli forces have killed more than 46,788 Palestinians and wounded 110,453.
Under the deal, approved by Israel’s government, 33 Israeli hostages will be exchanged for more than 730 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
The deal was mediated by key negotiators Qatar and Egypt, with US officials being closely involved in the deal.
