As I've said before, it's a process, a long process, and a very complicated one with a lot of moving parts. And there are going to have to be adjustments made,
I think they were waiting to see if we could pass it, obviously, and I think that's OK, but now that we've proven it, we've — I think that's one piece of it,
I think we've proven to the Senate and to everybody with President Trump's support and with a good product, and working together, we can achieve anything,
I think you take things for granted in that situation,
I know the Senate’s doing very well, and the House is doing very well, but each one of them has things that I like, so we’ll see if we can come together,
We’re going to celebrate tonight, and we’ll roll up our sleeves and get right back at it in the morning,
This budget resolution is a key step to start the process in delivering President Trump's America First agenda. With nearly every House Republican directly engaged in this deliberative process, this resolution reflects our collective commitment to enacting the President's full agenda—not just a part of it."
House Republicans have just taken one of the most morally reprehensible actions Congress has seen in a generation. It's a devil's bargain to slash health care for kids, seniors and working Americans to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations."
The GOP budget extends the 5 yr. tax holiday we've been enjoying, but because it doesn't cut spending much, it increases the deficit by over $300 billion/yr. compared to letting tax cuts expire. Over 10 years, this budget will add $20 trillion to US debt."
Our very way of life as a country is under assault."
The resolution is stronger than when it started. It now includes a trigger that ties the size of the tax cuts to the relevant committee's ability to meet or exceed the $2 trillion spending cut target. The House budget would benefit from deeper spending cuts, which are the only way to stabilize the national debt, protect Americans from higher taxes, and meet ambitious economic growth targets."
We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but we are going to deliver the American First agenda,
Trump helped us with a number of members,
Today, House Republicans moved Congress closer to delivering on President Trump's full America First agenda — not just parts of it,
It's the best bill we're going to get,
Medicaid is hugely problematic because it has a lot of fraud, waste and abuse. Everybody knows that. We all know it intuitively. No one in here would disagree,
We have new revenue inputs that really ought to be factored into this,
The house has a bill and the Senate has a bill, and I'm looking at them both, and I'll make decisions, but I don't know where they are in the vote,
Far-right extremists are determined to push through $4.5 trillion of tax breaks for wealthy Republican donors and well-connected corporations, explode the debt and saddle everyday Americans with the bill by ending Medicaid as we know it. We must be at full strength to enhance our opportunity to stop the GOP Tax Scam in its tracks."
The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda, EVERYTHING, not just parts of it!"
