After growing calls from members of Congress and pro-Israel voices, the Biden administration vetoed a draft resolution against the Jewish state at the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday.

The UN Security Council, which comprises 10 non-permanent alongside five permanent members, voted 14-1 in favor of the resolution, but the U.S. veto blocked its adoption.
The draft, put forward by the council's 10 non-permanent members, demanded an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire, as well as the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
