The ongoing wildfires in California are unprecedented, in the sense that they are dramatic for this time of the year,
We see these fires spread when it is hot and dry and windy, and right now all of those conditions are in place in southern California,
The clearest climate signal for those three conditions is with the temperature,
These fires are easily avoidable, but nonsense regulations in California prevent action being taken, so year after year homes burn down and more people die,
We don't have time for that mishegoss,
I think that we need to look at it from the perspective of global changes. And climate is just one global change. And certainly one of the other important global changes is population growth. And California has been growing at a phenomenal rate in the last 20 years,
It's really just the perfect alignment of everything in the atmosphere to give you this pattern and strong wind,
The impact increases exponentially as wind speed increases,
Now we talk about fire years.”
Winter wildfires should be an oxymoron,
Currently, customers experiencing a power outage should expect that it could take up to 48 hours before our crews are able to respond. High winds and fire conditions continue to present hazards for our crews and can affect response times and restoration efforts."
Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way."
Predicting where ash or soot from a fire will travel, or how winds will impact air quality, is difficult, so it's important for everyone to stay aware of the air quality in your area, make plans, and take action to protect your health and your family's health
The increased severity and frequency of extreme weather events have driven people from their homes,
We already have been providing resources in the fight against these raging wildfires,
Right now, the situation is quite dire,
On the left is the LA Fire Chief allowing her city to be burned down with no water in fire hydrants. On the right is the New Orleans Police Chief who allowed a terrorist attack on Bourbon without street barriers. DEI is quite literally getting people killed. Bring back merit."
As the fire chief, if confirmed, I vow to take a strategic and balanced approach to ensure we meet the needs of the community we serve. We will focus our efforts on increasing our operational effectiveness, enhancing firefighter safety and well-being, and fully commit to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture within the LAFD."
The Los Angeles Fire Chief was more focused on LGBTQ initiatives than refilling water reservoirs."
I look for who's best, not just who makes history,
