The ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas will see 33 surviving hostages released and a phased withdrawal of Israel Defence Forces (IDF) from parts of Gaza.
The Israeli security cabinet approved a ceasefire deal on Friday, paving the way for the return of the first hostages from Gaza as early as Sunday and bringing a halt to 15 months of conflict that have devastated the Palestinian coastal strip.
After 15 months of relentless bombardment, the war in Gaza has been the deadliest on record for journalists – with at least 166 Palestinian media workers killed according to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
