As the terms of supervised release and probation are included in the ‘sentences’ of the defendants, the Court may not modify the terms of supervised release,
There is no other way to describe President Trump's pardon of Jan. 6th defenders than un-American,
The President's actions are an outrageous insult to our justice system and the heroes who suffered physical scars and emotional trauma as they protected the Capitol, the Congress and the Constitution,
You must not knowingly enter the District of Columbia without first obtaining the permission from the Court" ... You must not knowingly enter the United States Capitol Building or onto surrounding grounds known as Capitol Square
Derek Chauvin's Minnesota conviction cannot be pardoned by the president—only the federal conviction can be. Although not a factor in his conviction, Chauvin's crime clearly involved racism. A pardon will rightly be seen as racially motivated."
As a mother, I am asking you don't pardon the murders (sic) of my baby Karon Hylton."
This action rights an incredible wrong that not only harmed Officer Sutton, but also crippled the ability for the department to function,
The jury in this case found the defendants guilty beyond a reasonable doubt for their roles in the murder of Karon Hylton Brown and a related cover up, affirming that what happened here was a serious crime,
As Mr. Hylton-Brown lay unconscious in the street in a pool of his own blood, Sutton and Zabavsky, agreed to cover up what Sutton had done to prevent any further investigation of the incident,
Never before, in any other jurisdiction in the country, has a police officer been charged with second-degree murder for pursuing a suspect,
They were arrested, put in jail for five years because they went after an illegal,
I think it’s one of the worst decisions Trump has ever made,
Our stance is clear — anyone who assaults a law enforcement officer should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, without exception,
Trump is being given bad information by a corrupt police department,
A jury of Sutton’s and Zabavsky’s peers listened to all the evidence and found Officer Sutton guilty of second-degree murder and Sutton and Zabavsky guilty of obstruction of justice and conspiracy,
They arrested the two officers to put them in jail for going after a criminal, a rough criminal, by the way,
These officers — men of integrity and dedication — were targeted by corrupt prosecutors who weaponized the legal system against them,
The community and fellow law enforcement officers deserve trusted officers that do not abuse their positions of trust and power or put the public at risk,
It is my opinion that had this case not occurred on the heels of the George Floyd murder, these officers would not be facing decades of jail time,
We’re very grateful to [President Trump] for doing it.”
