The prime minister set out yesterday that we are absolutely focused on making sure that we get that peace, and the security guarantees, as part of that. He mentioned in the House that we won’t be derailed or sidelined by commentary, ongoing commentary, but we will use our relationship with the US and our European allies to support Ukraine and President Zelensky in getting that peace deal and making sure those securities are part of that.”
The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,
Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskiy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the US – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking
We understand the importance of America, and we are grateful for all the support we've received from the United States."
The world has changed. Europe's relative military and economic power has declined. Its ability to exact unequal geopolitical and geoeconomic dividends has diminished. … Europe should recognize this new multipolar reality."
We need a very radical reset,
The Ukrainian people desire peace more than anyone else in the world and believe that the personal role of President Donald Trump and his peacekeeping efforts will be decisive in the swift cessation of hostilities and the achievement of peace for Ukraine, Europe and the entire world,
What we need to hear from President Zelenskyy is that he has regret for what happened, he's ready to sign this minerals deal and that he's ready to engage in peace talks,
Such a truce on air, sea and energy infrastructure would allow us to determine whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is acting in good faith when he commits to a truce,
There are clearly a number of options on the table,
For peace to be real, we need real security guarantees. And this is the position of all of Europe – the entire continent,
We have to learn from the mistakes of the past,
My assessment is that it wasn't a spontaneous reaction to interventions by Zelenskyy, but apparently an induced escalation in this meeting in the Oval Office,
I think our relationship (with the U.S.) will continue, because it's more than an occasional relationship,
It is very important that someone forces Zelenskyy himself to change his position,
We'd certainly like to see that happen,
We need to stop the war and to guarantee security. We are working together with America and our European partners and very much hope for US support on the path to peace. Peace is needed as soon as possible,
We have already had talks and other steps to come soon. It is very important that we try to make our diplomacy really substantive to end this war [as soon as] possible."
We welcome the Europeans taking a lead in European security,
What happened Friday really put that up in the air.”
